The fear that one of favorites for winning the Eurocup, Russian Uniks, is coming for a duel with Mornar at an inopportune time, came true tonight at the Topolica hall.
The Montenegrin champion has been defeated by the team from Kazanj 74:97, in a game whose course and epilogue were determined already during the second quarter, when the guest team lead by 17 points (28:45).
Uniks’ brilliant defense forced Mornar to make a lot of mistakes, leading Uniks to score a number of easy points.
The team from Bar had no solution for the center, Maurice Ndour, who, by scoring 12 points in the first quarter, majorly contributed to Uniks’ fantastic start.
In certain phases of the game Mornar managed to lift the game to a level that was on par with the Russian team, mostly thanks to Bronson Koening, who scored five three-points: the first four out of his four attempts to shoot.
