“We started the game very well; we controlled the flow of the ball well in the first and the second quarter. In the third quarter we had many selfish shots and that’s when things didn’t develop the way we had hoped. We made up for all of that in the fourth quarter when we had high shot percentage for three points, which is when we managed to decide the game.

Mornar is a very good team, with good players, making good shots, only confirming their class tonight.

Unikaha had a difficult schedule before the game with Mornar, we played Valencia and Gran Canaria in the Spanish championship. We created good chemistry and scored important wins both in the national championship and in Bar.

Ritas defeat is not surprising, anyone can win against anyone else in this group.”

Mihailo Pavićević, Mornar head coach:

“I congratulate Unikaha on their win and high-level play. I already said during training that we expect a difficult game against a team that plays and wins games twice a week against much stronger teams than us. We played as well as we should have in the first 15 minutes, which gave results. In the next five minutes, some players played outside of what we had agreed on, which is why we got punished by a ten-point difference. 

In the third quarter we reduced the difference to only four points, but we didn’t score the three point shots, then they scored three times consecutively and we couldn’t respond to that series. I’m not sad about tonight’s loss, we showed that we are on par with the teams as strong as Unikaha during the most part of the game, which is a formula for the rest of the season, where I believe our play will continue to improve. 

If you don’t believe in yourself, you won’t succeed at anything. I convinced my players that our game concept is the best possible for them, just like other coaches try to convince their players of their own game concept. If you recall, in December last year, I said we’re not afraid of anyone. It’s the same now, we can play anyone. I believe that our fans are enjoying our play and they will enjoy it even more.”
