Press conference after the match Mornar - Skyliners

Gordon Herbert, coach of Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt:

The match was strong in the defense for the majority of it. My young team played quite well in key moments. We fell through in one period, but that is justified by the intensity of the match. Still, in key moments we scored the deciding points.

Free throws were the deciding factor because Mornar missed 18 out of 36.

We have accomplished our primary goal by entering the top 16. Further ambitions depend on the group in which we will find ourselves.

I like Bar, it is a lovely city, and the hospitality of the locals is delightful. I also loved the sea and the sun during my morning walk.

When you look at the score at the and and see that you have lost you can’t be happy. We had some good periods during the game. I wanted to give all players a chance, to have a wide rotation and to allow them to use their minutes fully. Still, we missed 18 free throws, and when you play a match in which one point can turn out to be crucial, that has got to be the deciding factor. I told the players to pay attention to the free throws because that is a very important segment of every game. Skyliners is a good team, with a large rotation. Because of free throws we have failed to turn the odds in our favor.

The atmosphere in our team, after a few failures, was not good, but now it is improving - we can see that with our players. I am quite satisfied with how our team is currently looking and I expect much better game during the rest of the season.
